Norma Bruhn is a prolific artist with a career spanning over 40 years. She has extensive mixed media expertise in welding, batik, watercolor and oil painting. Her passion is impressionist oil painting in both plein air and still format. Her plein air subjects ranges from farmland to hillside to seascape; her still subjects include flowers, fruit, animals and ordinary objects which she makes extraordinary with her range of lights and darks. She has trained for over ten years with internationally acclaimed artist Guido Frick.

Norma still paints in her 80s. She loves to teach people how to paint. Her famous quote: "It's just paint! You can always paint over it, if you don't like it."
It simply means painting outside, The colors and shadows are best defined by natural light. She secretly touches up her paintings when she is home. It sure can get cold on location!
